Divine Guidance vs. Ego: Learning to Trust Your Intuition
One of the questions we hear the most is, "How do I know if it's my intuition, or is it just my ego talking?"
It's a great question because we've all been there. We've all questioned ourselves, second-guessed our decisions, or wondered if we're truly receiving divine guidance.
The truth is, learning to trust your intuition isn't about being perfect. It's about getting to know yourself and recognizing how the Divine communicates with you.
Your Ego Isn't the Enemy
We often think of the ego as something negative, but it actually has an important job.
Your ego is there to protect you. It wants to keep you safe, comfortable, and away from anything that feels uncertain. While that's helpful in some situations, it can also keep you from growing.
The ego speaks through fear.
It tells you you're not ready.
It makes you worry about what other people think.
It convinces you to stay where it's comfortable instead of taking the next step.
How many times have you had an amazing idea, only to talk yourself out of it a few minutes later?
That's usually your ego stepping in.
Divine Guidance Feels Different
Divine guidance doesn't push you through fear.
Instead, it gently encourages you forward.
It feels calm.
It feels supportive.
It often comes as a quiet knowing, a feeling, an image, or simply that little nudge you can't quite explain.
Sometimes it doesn't even make logical sense, but deep down, you know it's the right direction.
That's the difference.
Fear creates hesitation.
Divine guidance creates peace.
Stop Playing Small
During this episode, we talked about how easy it is to hold ourselves back because we're worried about failing or being judged.
The reality is, we all have unique gifts.
We all connect with the Divine differently.
Some people receive guidance through feelings.
Some see images.
Some hear words.
Others simply know.
None of these ways are better than another. They're simply different.
When we stop comparing ourselves to everyone else, we give ourselves permission to trust the way we naturally receive guidance.
Gratitude Changes Your Perspective
One of the easiest ways to strengthen your intuition is through gratitude.
When we're constantly focused on what's missing or what's not working, we can miss the guidance that's already right in front of us.
Gratitude helps us shift our focus.
It reminds us of how supported we already are.
It opens the door for us to notice the little signs, opportunities, and synchronicities that the Divine places along our path every day.
Sometimes the Answer Comes Through Life Itself
We shared a story about someone who wanted to move but couldn't seem to make the decision.
She kept asking for guidance, but instead of receiving a clear answer, life started creating situations that naturally led her to leave her rental home.
Looking back, the guidance had been there all along.
Sometimes we expect the Divine to answer with words.
Instead, the answer comes through experiences, timing, conversations, or circumstances that gently move us where we need to be.
The key is staying open and trusting the process.
Ask Clear Questions
One thing we encourage everyone to do is ask clear questions.
Instead of asking several questions all at once, ask one question and then pay attention.
Notice how you feel.
Notice what keeps showing up.
Notice what brings you peace instead of worry.
The clearer your question, the easier it becomes to recognize the answer.
Your Journey Is Unique
One of the biggest takeaways from this conversation is remembering that your intuitive journey will never look exactly like someone else's.
You don't need to receive messages the way your friend does.
You don't need to compare your gifts with anyone else.
The Divine created your connection to be uniquely yours.
Trust it.
Develop it.
Be patient with yourself as it grows.
A Message for the Next Two Weeks
Over the next two weeks, we invite you to spend a little more time trusting yourself.
Believe in your abilities.
Practice gratitude every day.
Ask clear questions and allow the answers to unfold naturally.
Most importantly, stop playing small.
The Divine is always communicating with you.
The more you trust yourself, the easier it becomes to recognize that guidance.
Thank you for being part of our Divine Dialogues community. We hope this conversation reminds you that your intuition is always available, your journey is unfolding exactly as it should, and you are far more capable than you may realize.
