How to Connect With Archangels: Asking for Guidance, Protection & Healing
Sep 24, 2026
Connecting with Archangels doesn’t have to be complicated. One of the things we have both learned through our own experiences is that sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is simply ask for help and trust that the right Divine support will come forward.
In a recent conversation on Divine Dialogues: Intuitives Unveiled, we talked about how we connect with Archangels in our everyday lives. Although we each have our own way of working with them, we both believe that Archangels are available to provide guidance, protection, healing, and support when we ask.
How We Connect With Archangels
For both of us, connecting with the Archangels has become a natural part of our lives. We don't believe you need an elaborate ritual or have to know everything about every Archangel before you begin.
You can simply ask.
Tracey regularly works with Archangel Michael and Archangel Metatron as part of her daily energy clearing and shielding practice. Archangel Michael is often called upon for protection, while Metatron assists with clearing and balancing energy.
Archangel Raphael is another Archangel Tracey regularly asks for assistance, particularly when healing energy is needed.
Rhonda approaches connecting with the Archangels a little differently. She often makes an open-ended request rather than deciding exactly how something should happen. This creates space for the Divine to bring forward the guidance, Archangel, or experience that is for her highest good.
Our approaches may be slightly different, but the intention is very similar: ask, trust, and allow.
Which Archangel Should I Ask for Help?
This is something people often wonder about when they first begin learning how to connect with Archangels.
Do I need Archangel Michael?
Should I ask Archangel Raphael?
What about Ariel, Gabriel, Metatron, or Azrael?
Knowing the different Archangels and what they are commonly associated with can be helpful, but we don't believe you need to worry about choosing the "perfect" Archangel.
If you aren't sure who to call upon, simply ask the Divine for the help you need.
The Archangel who is meant to assist can step forward.
Sometimes we can become so focused on doing things correctly that we unintentionally make our Divine connection more complicated than it needs to be.
Archangels for Protection, Healing and Guidance
Over the years, we have both connected with different Archangels depending on what is happening in our lives.
Some of the Archangels we discussed include:
Archangel Michael — protection, shielding and helping us feel safe.
Archangel Raphael — healing and supporting physical, emotional and energetic well-being.
Archangel Metatron — energy clearing, balancing and working with our energetic space.
Archangel Ariel — connection with animals, nature and the energy of Mother Earth.
Archangel Gabriel — communication, messages and guidance.
Archangel Azrael — support surrounding grief, transition and loved ones who have crossed over.
These are ways that we personally understand and work with these Archangels. Your own relationship with the Divine may feel or develop differently—and that's okay.
Recognizing Signs From the Archangels
Another part of connecting with Archangels is learning to notice what is happening around you.
Divine guidance doesn't always arrive as a loud voice saying, "Here's your answer!"
It can be much quieter.
Sometimes a particular animal appears at exactly the right moment. You might repeatedly notice a word, number, song, colour, or symbol. You may suddenly know something without understanding where that knowing came from.
We also talked about experiences with deer and how animals can sometimes appear as meaningful signs.
The important part is noticing what the experience means to you.
Your signs don't necessarily need to look like anyone else's signs.
Divine Help Doesn't Always Look the Way We Expect
One of the harder lessons can be recognizing that Divine assistance doesn't always arrive in the form we imagined.
We may ask for something and expect a particular outcome. Then something completely different happens.
At first, it may even feel negative.
Later, we may look back and realize that situation redirected us, protected us, or moved us toward something we couldn't see at the time.
This is where surrender becomes such an important part of working with the Archangels.
We can ask for guidance while also leaving room for the Divine plan.
Instead of saying, "This is exactly what I need to happen," we can ask for assistance with the situation and remain open to an outcome that may be even better than the one we imagined.
Gratitude Is Part of the Connection
Something we both feel strongly about is gratitude.
Our relationship with the Archangels isn't only about asking for things.
It's also about saying thank you.
Thank you for the guidance.
Thank you for the protection.
Thank you for the signs.
And sometimes, thank you for the things we didn't understand when they were happening.
Gratitude helps us slow down and recognize the Divine support that may already be present in our lives.
You Don't Have to Overthink Your Archangel Connection
If you are just beginning to explore Archangel communication and Divine guidance, remember that you don't have to know everything before you start.
You don't need to memorize every Archangel.
You don't need the perfect words.
And you don't need to connect exactly the way someone else does.
Simply begin with an intention.
Ask for help.
Pay attention.
Be grateful.
And trust your own intuition as you learn how the Divine communicates with you.
For both of us, connecting with the Archangels is an ongoing relationship. We continue to learn, ask questions, notice signs, and discover new ways Divine guidance shows up in our everyday lives.
Sometimes the simplest place to begin is just saying:
"Archangels, I am asking for your help and guidance. Please bring forward what I need for my highest good."
Then allow yourself to be open to what comes next.
