You Are Enough

You are enough!!
Three words that carry a lot of weight behind them. As a child, I personally never heard the words spoken to me. I think that if every child heard these words , then as an adult a person would know that regardless of the outcome of a situation, they would know that just doing their best is all that is needed. I remember in school when we had track and field day, if you never placed in the top three you never received a ribbon. What if there was the concept that no one received a ribbon, instead that everyone who completed the task was shown appreciation for their accomplishment of showing up and putting their effort into the task. No judging, who was faster or better at it, just giving compliments on finishing the task. When I went to school what we got on our tests showed how smart you were. I, myself, never got good grades, but I was farm smart. What is farm smart? Much like life smart, I could do everything to run a farm. Before going to school, I would get up to feed the animals, milk the cows and anything else to start a day, then go to school. After school I would again milk the cows, haul bales or jump on the combine to help out with the farm. These skills were not considered into the school curriculum and I never received a ribbon for doing them, but I was proud of what I was doing because I know that my efforts were good enough and that everything that I did helped out the family. I think that it is important for everyone to know that you are good enough just the way you are. When we stop comparing ourselves to those around us, then we are fulfilling our souls desire, to be the person that we are meant to be, to be true to ourselves. Be proud of the person you are, know that you are good enough.
